Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Grid Developer ("we," "our," or "us") operates the PackLight packing list and travel checklist application (the "App") for Android and iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles data and protects your privacy. PackLight is designed to be a privacy-first, offline-first app: your trips, categories, packing items, and preferences are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Data Collection

PackLight is designed to operate entirely offline. We do not require an account, do not ask you to log in, do not create a profile, and do not collect or transmit your personal data. The App contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs.

The App does not collect:

• Personal identifiable information (name, email, phone number)
• Contacts, messages, or call logs
• Location data or precise coordinates
• Photos, camera, microphone, or media files
• Your calendar, contacts, or other device contents
• Information about other installed applications
• Browsing history or bookmarks

3. Local Storage

Everything you create in the App — trips, packing categories, items, quantities, checked state, custom templates, Packing Memory history, and settings — is stored locally on your device in the App's private on-device database. This storage is scoped to the App by your operating system and is protected by your device lock screen and app sandbox. The data is used solely to power the App's features and is never uploaded to us or to any third party.

Because the data exists only on the device where it was created, there is no account to sign in to on another phone. If you want to move a list to another device, you do that yourself with an export or an import code, as described below.

4. Packing Reminders

PackLight can remind you to start packing two days before a trip departs. This reminder is a local notification scheduled on your own device using your trip's date. There is no push notification server, and we do not know that you scheduled a reminder or when you travel.

Reminder notifications are generated on your device from data you entered. You can turn them off in the App at any time, or disable notification permission entirely in your device settings.

5. PDF Export & Import Codes

You can export a packing list as a printable PDF, or share it as an import code. Both are produced entirely on your device from data you entered:

• The PDF is rendered on your device and saved or shared only when you choose a destination.
• The import code is encoded inside the code itself. Nothing is uploaded to generate it, and we cannot read or recover a list from an import code.

Once you share an exported file or code to another app (email, messaging, cloud drive, and so on), that destination app and service handles the data under its own privacy policy. We never receive, view, or store any exported file or import code.

6. PackLight Pro In-App Purchase

The core App is free. PackLight Pro is a single one-time, non-consumable unlock that adds custom templates and the full Packing Memory history. It is not a subscription and there is no recurring charge.

Purchases are processed entirely by the store — Google Play Billing on Android and the App Store in-app purchase system on iOS. We never see or store your payment details, card number, or billing address. Your purchase entitlement is recorded on your device so the Pro features remain unlocked offline, and you can restore your purchase at any time from the in-app paywall or from Settings.

7. Permissions Used

PackLight requests only a minimal set of permissions:

7.1 Notifications

Used only to schedule your local packing reminder before departure. The App does not use notifications for advertising or engagement. Declining this permission simply disables reminders; every other feature keeps working.

7.2 Files / Storage

Used only when you choose to save or share an exported PDF packing list, and to read a shared import code. No other files are read or written without your explicit action.

7.3 Internet

Used only to reach Google Play Billing or the App Store when you view or complete the PackLight Pro purchase, and to restore a previous purchase. The App sends no personal data over the network and does not require a connection to function.

7.4 Device Permissions Not Requested

PackLight does not request camera, microphone, contacts, photo library, precise or background location, Bluetooth, health, or advertising ID permissions. It cannot access any of them.

8. Third-Party Services

PackLight relies on the following platform services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Play Billing — Processes the PackLight Pro purchase on Android. We receive only an anonymous purchase acknowledgement; no payment data passes through the App.
• Apple App Store In-App Purchase — Processes the PackLight Pro purchase on iOS under the Apple Privacy Policy.
• Your device's share sheet — When you export a PDF or import code, the operating system hands the file to the app or service you pick. We are not involved in that transfer.

PackLight contains no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK, so there is no advertising identifier, no interest-based advertising, and no cross-app tracking to opt out of.

9. Data Storage & Deletion

All App data (trips, categories, items, templates, Packing Memory, preferences, and your Pro entitlement) is stored locally on your device. To delete your data:

• Delete individual trips or templates from within the App, or
• Uninstall the App from your device, or
• Go to Settings → Apps → PackLight → Storage → Clear Data (or Settings → Apps → PackLight → Delete App on iOS)

Because we hold no server-side copy, uninstalling or clearing the App's data permanently and irreversibly deletes everything. We cannot restore it for you. Export a PDF first if you want to keep a printable copy. PDFs you already exported to other apps or locations remain under your control and are deleted from those locations by you, not by us.

10. Children's Privacy

PackLight is not directed at children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features or applicable regulations. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
